How much of it is about acceptance and what they perceive as receiving love because that was the 'normal' that was set for them as a child? So sad that the pain is still there for her, so close to the surface that everytime she talks about it decades later she still cries. I just learnt today that 1 in 20 kids experience sexual abuse. That literally makes my heart ache. So many amazing people who have so much working against them and are still able to laugh, have humility and function in daily life. Inspiring and humbling.
