id: 571844 - Text: Initially, I thought "wow, she changed so much since the first time we saw her", but upon thinking a bit, I came to realize, she hasnt changed since we first meet her. It is just that we get to see more of her in this video. 10 years full of adversity and hustling to survive, it doesnt go away that easier. Say whatever you want, but human is resilient in strange ways. Once you have experience enough hardship, you might know it is bad but it also becomes your familiar ground. Getting out of a life like this takes tremendous effort and consistency and once one's fall off that path just a bit, they swim right back to what they are familiar with. Human fears, among all, the unknown.
I don't think Asriah could even comprehend what she has just lost. I don't know if that comes with the lack of education or what, but what was given to her was literally a one in a million opportunity. She threw it away and she couldn't even understand.
I truly wish Asriah all the best and that someday she will turn her life around. To Mark, you have been incredible with all the people you helped and tried to help. You are a beacon of hope and I hope you continue your work and doesn't lose hope on helping those less fortunate.
