We are very fortunate to have access to these interviews, i have never felt such empathy and compassion and sadness, as when i watch his videos. Here’s $100 to start you on the path to your dream of being a pediatrician Mariah. As a near high school drop out I started from ground zero after flunking all entry exams for a local Seattle Community College. The career counselor’s comments were stunning - he rudely said he’d never seen lower scores and that I must come from a divorced family. Those cruel judgmental words propelled me forward. I went to the tutoring center daily for a year and got my third grade level math and English up to college level earning the first “A” ‘s in my life. You started life with no support Mariah - no love, no encouragement. Sometimes in life you need to do that for yourself. You CAN do that for yourself and your daughter. Start with getting your GED. California has the least expensive college tuition. When I lived there I took advantage of that and was constantly taking classes at the Community Colleges. Cal State Los Angeles was affordable and I applied for grants and work study. Don’t let anyone stop you from reaching your dream. You get there by taking it one step at a time. If you fail a test / class you take it again. You can do this Mariah. Apply for assistance, find the help you need, build your independence and confidence and leave the streets behind. God bless you, you are a treasure and a true survivor. I believe in you.
