When you’re a young 14 year old girl, you are innocent and scared because you are still a child. He would always either find me when I was walking home from school or just out walking somewhere and make me get into his car. I finally got out of it because he would record himself raping me, and I blocked every number he would send me the videos from. But I had my phone taken from me because I was grounded so I couldn’t block any of the numbers he would try and contact me from, and he sent videos and my mother saw and called the police. That’s how I got free. And he didn’t even serve his prison time, he killed himself with one of the guns he would use on me while raping me. Every time I look back on it I wish I could have been brave. I wish I would have known my family would protect me, and the police would protect them. It would have saved me a year and a half of my life being taken from me.

But it's not all about ego boost but coming to terms with reality, a huge portion of society has trouble just getting through day to day, avoiding the needle, etc.... now when I see homeless I wonder about their story and I'm not afraid to look them in the eye, because they are human too.
