id: 9978 - Text: This, 100%. I mean, I'm no psychologist, but there's a parallel IMO between the abuse he suffered and how his addiction manifests. I assume he probably wouldn't be able to perform at age 4, and perhaps the way the girls reacted caused him trauma? It seems to me that perhaps the origin of his addiction is him reliving that experience, and trying to deal with it by getting high, or simply using the drug's effects to relive the experience, period. There's at least a superficial parallel there with how he is specifically soliciting oral sex when he's unable to receive it properly due to the drug's side effects. I suppose I shouldn't jump to conclusions based on a single 30 minute interview especially with a vague 5 second description of molestation; I'm sure there's a lot more to his story. If he's been through rehab, therapy had to have been a part of it, and I'd imagine (and hope) talking through the molestation as well. Drug addiction is so complicated...
I really hope he can get his life together, and I hope to see him clean in a follow up. He seems to very much want to help himself and others by being so incredibly honest about his current state in the interview. He seems to have a better base of support and more resources than 99.9% of the other interviewees in this channel, so hopefully that helps his chances.
id: 9979 - Text: @tck42 Agree, it's like he subconsciously found a very specific way to recreate the situation of being used, embarrassed, out of control, etc as a child and the addiction part won't let him out of that locked routine to get to that place. He's not going to find it hiking or with a normal sex life until he does a ton of work and overwrites these highs with the more stable low wattage pleasures of a normal life. His family is enabling him, his job is funding him, etc. He's not going to hit bottom, so it's never going to stop for now. I've met a lot of "rich kids" like this that had a steady supply of money, so they just went off the deep end until they were just shells of a human. When the money and support runs out, he's going to have a much worse time it sounds like.

Like with me, I didn't even realize what had happened to me as a kid was molestation until I became an adult. We had the best relationship as cousins growing up afterwards but still.
Like we, as a society didn't think of what sexual assault/abuse or sexual predators is until 2017.

Utah puts them in a indoor jail/mall AFTER they serve their long sentence. Washington State puts them on an ISLAND with polluted drinking water.
In other states they can't find jobs, have to live in sex offender ghettos, with constant supervision. I think we are doing better as a society, since the 1990's at least.

Just like how patrick's predators were also children. Let's be honest, most sex offenders aren't even on the registry or even faced jail time.
For example, I know of a story right here in NJ. Where this kid raped his classmate but the judge refused to convict him because he was 17, from a good family, and was on his way to Syracuse University.
Like you know how many rapists, abusers, and predators lead normal to successful lives?

I'd encourage you to get some solid Christian help to get back to the root of why you feel like this. You are loved by God & you're worthy of love on earth with a good Godly wife & blessed with children. I believe your childhood sexual experience with those girls was 100% abuse. Please don't let your mind keep pushing it aside. It's clear you're feeling alot of guilt about sex. You're NOT disgusting. You have a future. God has a plan & purpose for your life. You know deep down He's there...you've had a relationship with Him before. I pray you will find your way back to sobriety really soon & go on to have a blessed life.
