For example a thing that a lot of them (both pimps and prostitutes) mention is paying bills and clothes as a very important part of the pimp's "job", so that makes that the prostitutes has less responsabilities so she can have sex with more clients and without having to worry about how much time they spend working in order to get more money. So maybe this lack of responsabilities is what can drag a woman to stay under a pimp, obviously only in the case that a woman actually chose to be a prostitute. But there could be also many other factors, for example the research of a father figure. I don't know, i'm trying to understand better this subculture which is specifically american. Here in Italy people that are pimps are just part of big criminal organizations and human trafficking and that means that they have a boss and they're income is not going all to them, they're not just single men that do this on their own like most of the black american pimps interviews i saw, and this difference is what makes me think. But still i don't think this is a right thing, imho prostitution should be legal and all the income should go to the person that does the work, man or woman.
