I have a daughter who is turning thirteen this year and the thought of her experiencing these kinds of things… there’s no words to describe the feelings it gives me. It weighs so heavy on my heart - the knowledge that this is just one of countless souls who have endured such tragic circumstances - and how it’s been happening for all of history and how complex the problems are, how challenging the solution(s) are - it’s what keeps me up at night.
These videos have me counting my blessings for damn sure. I just wish I was in a position to really help affect change. I’m writing a book with a protagonist who is a homeless woman and sex worker (well, she’s a kind of homeless. She has shelter, but it isn’t hers and it’s tenuous) and she becomes a true hero. I have been in situations that cause me to have a lot of empathy for so many of the people in these videos (I will admit it’s harder to feel empathy for a handful of them - compassion is important however) and living similar lives. I feel like all I really can do right now is use my creative voice to share my thoughts and feelings about issues like economic inequality and what it takes to create radical change for humanity. If I had wealth I would put it high on my priority list to use it contribute to the mission of this channel and similar causes.
I hope and pray Amber finds her way to a better life. I can sense she has so much more potential than opportunity. It would be wonderful if that would change for her, and everyone like her.

I've been through hell more than enough times with loads of medical conditions, had sexual abuse in the family and because I didn't always go boo hoo poor me, all those around me felt I was 'fine', even the damn medical staff , friends, family and our damn government. As I myself don't want pity, everyone goes through hard times in life, focus, have determination. Doesn't matter what 'you' consider horrible compared to any other topic, pain is pain. They expect you to hit bottom and roll in your own pity and sorrow. I won't lower myself to that level!
