id: 1132255 - Text: I'm a big fan of this channel, mostly because it's exciting to see these 3 girls putting in so much thought and effort into building this podcast. However, this particular video is confusing because they waiver between debate and confusion. As part of the audience, I find myself confused about whether they're just confused about the definition of 'trophy wife,' but then I realize they're simply debating the dictionary definition of 'trophy' and plugging it into term that is typically used in a derogatory way for a wife whose merits don't stretch beyond their looks, whereas what they're trying to do, seems to be address that the term 'trophy wife' should be a positive thing, and should entail a deeper meaning beyond a women getting a guy for their looks.
The part about "valuing yourself as a trophy wife" as a tool to get a guy to value you is a bit strange to me, because it's not a switch all girls can just switch on. Confident ones who can just flip the switch probably don't need to flip the switch - it's already on. Perhaps the average audience can benefit from being reminded to flip the switch. However, this is coming from an ex porn star, and this simplistic approach from someone who's not only become extremely rich and famous, and overcome barriers agains all odds, but has also shaken off a lot of the stigma associated with her past, is a bit odd --- imagine all the ex porn stars who resorted to porn for money, were not contracted with abusive production companies (vs. Lana who worked for the top producers), and are now terribly shaken and probably will need mental health therapy to get back to mental stability, and will much greater barriers because they're not Lana Rhoads, they're just porn stars who naively stepped into the industry, were used and discarded a few times, and are now stuck (without the money that Lana has). Simply believe they're a trophy wife (in modern terms) isn't going to change much for them. It would be better if their advice were presented more realistically (like for improving the odds of being treated well) and not presented like as simple as "value yourself and the guy will do the same!"
Again, huge fan of what these 3 girls have partnered together to do, but this is my least favorite video -- too many eyebrow raising comment made as general statements, that are really pieces of their experience that are applicable to their lives. I am very interested in hearing both (1) their life experiences and (2) advice, but it would be much better if they kept how they're presenting life experience sharing vs. advice in mind when speaking, so the first doesn't come across as odd advice. I am hopeful it will get better as they make more videos.
