Almost to a tee, minus the independent life and meth addiction. I was never a hard-core alcoholic, but I drank pretty much daily, while addicted to oxys, or any pill close to it. Bipolar 2 imbalanced meds. Pretty dependent on benzos (even now, sober and on buprenorphine).
IMO, cold turkey detoxing myself from opiods was one the worst experiences of my life. If I hadn't done that, though, I'd be dead.
I'm 6yrs sober this September.
